Owner, Jeff Slyn began working in the computer business on May 1st, 1984 for an Entre Computer Center franchise at Fourth and Main Streets here in Louisville.

They closed up on Christmas Eve that same year, but Jeff was already providing computer service at The Computer Shoppe, owned by Service Merchandise. He helped open the store on Hurstbourne Lane. When 1/3 of their work force was let go, he began to work part time for the Courier-Journal's computer store called Computer Emporium.

His last stop before starting his own company was MicroAge Computer Center on Dixie Highway in the old Bacon's Shopping Center in Shively. As they began to have financial problems, Jeff started SLYN Software & Peripherals in October 1985, back in the day when computers and software cost a small fortune. When he moved to a new location in May 1993, the name was changed to SLYN Systems & Peripherals in order to reflect how much system and hardware work he was doing in comparison to software.

Over the years, we've become Louisville's longest running personal computer dealer and service center, having celebrated our 23rd anniversary in October 2008. We continue to be as competitive as any established business in the Louisville, Kentucky area for computer service rates, charging anywhere from $50-88 an hour. SLYN Systems is available 7 days a week to our clients. For over 23 years, we have given free telephone support for the life of any item purchased from us. In addition, there has never been a complaint filed against us at the Better Business Bureau.

Jeff has served on various computer boards, most currently on the ATA Network Professional Advisory Board, KY Microsoft Small Business Server Users Group and previously, the CMP Media National VAR Business Advisory Council. Jeff spends a lot of time volunteering within the Louisville community as we believe in giving back to this area and helping others. Jeff's newest volunteer activity is serving on the board of the Lyndon Area Business Association (LABA)
